Q. What is the purpose of this consultation?

The ACT Government previously engaged Purdon & Associates to review the future use of these eight community sites and consult with the community. The purpose of the consultation process being undertaken by GHD is:

To inform the community about the Purdon & Associates Report recommendations and any relevant ACT Government decisions about the community sites;

To listen to the community's views on the recommended future land use options for each of the sites; and

To report back to Government on the community's views.

Q. Will the community site be reopened as a school?

The eight community sites will not be retained or reopened as a school but will provide much needed community space, as well as a range of future land use options, for community commment.

Q. How do I participate in this process?

GHD want to know your views on any or all of the eight community sites - Cook, Weston (Weston Creek), Melrose (Chifley), Village Creek (Kambah), North Curtin, Holt, Mt Neighbour (Kambah) and Rivett.

A program of consultation activities for each community site is available from the dates section.

Further meeting dates with your local community council will be available soon.

You can provide your views and comments by either attending one of our consultation forums or information stalls, posting your comments on our website www.bangthetable/communitysites, by emailing ListenACT@ghd.com.au or by post.

Q. What is happening with the community parks and how can I find out more about them?

Eight sites have been nominated to include a community park. These sites are Cook, Weston, Chifley (Melrose), Holt, Village Creek (Kambah), Macarthur, Mount Neighbour (Kambah) and Rivett.

Locations for the parks are yet to be finalised. In the near future, Territory and Municipal Services (TAMS) will be consulting the community on the options for the parks and what could go in them.

Q. What date will submissions for comments close?

All submissions must be submitted by July 31st 2008.

This website will also close down on July 31st.

GHD will communicate your comments to the Government. Your feedback is valuable and will help the Government decide on the future of the sites.
