After the forum it should be arranged for delegates to visit each other's Councils on a one to one basis to swap best practice. This was proposed at the Live Wire Forum on 8 November 2007

I think it would be an eye-opening experience to see how other councils do/don't do things. Plus it would reinforce the networking purpose of YPinLG.

A great idea would be to run a study tour for each role of government e.g. Development Assessment, Strategic Planning, Administration, HR, Property etc.

Good idea, also how about an exchange with State agencies so some of those guys can get to understand Local Government better and understand the contribution we can make.

I think this is a great idea and I would be really keen to take it up. Perhaps the best way to go about it would be a process in which people could register themselves as being a candidate to host and/or a candiate to visit another Council. People could list an area of expertise for themselves and their organisation (ie what they feel their Council does well and go from there.

great idea..... But should be done at ones own expense, as it is a pretty ordinary excuse, to get away from the problems in their own council.

If they don't know what they are doing, why are they there in the first place....
