New Climate Change Minister - but can she achieve anything?

Editorial from SMH 23rd February. The major decisions on matters affecting climate change for NSW have been made by the Treasurer; a self professed climate change sceptic.

3I dont know much about Ms Firth but from what I have read about Costa, Tripodi, Rozendal, et al who really run the state (note I do not include Iemma in the list)she will either have an uphill battle or has been put there to be all talk no action.
What has happened to Koperberg is an absolute disgrace. He has had his health wrecked by the hounds of the right faction of the labor party who slung around mud about him because he wanted to achieve progress on some of our key environmental challenges.
You would have to be a brave person to stand up to these bullies.

1She'll have been put there to do Costa's bidding which means exempting the power industry from clmate change legislation which in turn will make the legislation pointless.
Costa will go down in history as a modern King Canute. The coal lobbyers must be laughing. They would expect politicians to take their money and turn a blind eye. This Costa actually believes them!
